This paper presents the first detailed progress on the vertebrate paleontology mammalian reservoir of Fonelas P-1, located in the municipality of Fonelas belonging to Granada Guadix region. This site is especially rich in fossils of large mammals in the terminal Pliocene (ca. 2.0 old), representing new species in many cases and other little known. After this first stage of the research project of six years, and being public and various aspects of the geology and paleontology of the deposit interest, are presented herein detailed work on the microvertebrates, carnivores, Artiodactyla, Perissodactyla and Proboscidea identified in this unique log and general aspects of the project that frames this research, the project Fonelas.
