Groundwater is an important component of the hydrological cycle, comprising most of the inland freshwater in liquid, ground water moving very slowly toward the springs, rivers, lakes and a number of outlets to the sea. Typically, groundwater has been up a little over half a century, in which hydrogeological science began its development and expansion, the great unknown in the world of natural science and hydrology. This book is a pioneering attempt to bring the science of groundwater (hydrogeology) to citizens interested in preserving the natural heritage related to the water environment around him and in which is immersed. This approach is not easy as long as needed to expose, with an informative, various aspects of nature and human activity in which man and woman are incardinated walk. For this reason, this book presents a dual nature, synthetic and educational at the same time, in his presentation. The main theme of the book, the water in the province of Seville, is particularly relevant at a time when the low rainfall and the advent of climate change echo the importance of groundwater in the water scenario. Unfortunately, droughts are often repetitive phenomena in our country and are well known in Andalusia. However, they have a positive aspect since it will raise awareness among the public that water resources are scarce, while promoting the dissemination of knowledge of groundwater. This book attempts to bring the reader to the wide variety of aspects of everyday life that remind us of the vital presence of water in the world in which we live. An element whose presence is so natural that sometimes goes unnoticed, but whose absence hampering the development of any kind of life. To publicize its own sphere, its conditions, its relations with the broad spectrum of human creativity centered in the province of Seville, can contribute willingly to appreciate as many deserve this valuable and scarce resource.
